Daily Alternative News Report for Thursday September 4, 2014
Good morning. Solar activity has picked-up in the past few days. The Sun has shot multiple M-class flares from several new regions that are just rotating onto the East limb and the solar filament we were watching, did indeed erupt. We now have a solar storm on the way to Earth, which could bring us more aurora as well as disruptions in GPS and traffic services, satellite phone and internet, and problems with ham radio communications. Also from the recent activity, we are experiencing some elevated radiation, which may peak at the NOAA S1 storm level around September 6 with the impact of the coming solar storm. Learn how this activity might affect you and see what else the Sun has in store for us this week. Solar activity is at low levels this morning and has been that way since the M2.5 event on Wednesday. Newly numbered region 2157, now turning into view off the southeast limb, appears to contain several small to mid sized sunspots. This region is likely a threat for at least an isolated M-Class event. The source of a major solar flare on Sept. 1, likely an X-Class, and cause of a radiation event that bombarded the STEREO Behind spacecraft, is now beginning to turn into view off the northeast limb. So far only the leading edge of a large spot is visible. We will get a better look at it during the next 24 hours. Elsewhere, region 2153 did show some growth during the past day, but is otherwise stable this morning. All other regions, including newly numbered regions 2155 and 2156 remain stable for now. No Earth directed coronal mass ejections were observed during the past day.

Daily Alternative News Report for September 3, 2014 Good morning. Solar activity during the past 24 hours was low. A number of low level C-Class solar flares are being detected off the southeast limb. Old region 2144 and company are now beginning to turn into view. We will get a better look at the sunspots during the next 24 hours. Region 2152, now transitioning into the southwest quadrant, showed some decay within the central portion of the group. All other visible regions are currently stable. There will be an increasing chance for a moderate solar flare as active regions rotate into view. Energetic Protons streaming past Earth continue at elevated levels, but fall short of the minor radiation storm threshold. The increased particle levels is a direct result of major flare activity behind the east limb on September 1. A long duration solar flare peaking at M2.5 was observed at 13:54 UTC Wednesday morning. The source of this eruption is a new active region approaching the southeast limb. A weak coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible in the latest LASCO C2 imagery and as expected due to the limb location, was directed to the east and away from our planet. We will get a better look at the active region during the next several days. Also in today's report, we have world history they refuse to teach in schools, and a live NASA video chat about landing on the 'rubber-ducky' asteroid. Videos by Suspicious0bservers, AP Good morning. Here is the solar update for Tuesday morning. Earth facing solar activity during the past 24 hours was low. Region 2152 showed intermediate spot growth and now possesses a weak delta structure within the center of the group. This region should continue to be monitored as it is now in an Earth facing geoeffective position. All other visible regions, including departing sunspot 2149, are currently stable. In sharp contrast to the Earth side of the sun, the farside seen at least three moderate to major solar flares on Monday. The strongest event took place Monday morning around a new sunspot still a few days away behind the northeast limb. A bright, fast moving and energetic coronal mass ejection (CME) was produced and directed away from Earth. Old region 2144, now about 24 hours away from returning into view off the southeast limb, produced a moderate to strong solar flare at approximately 16:15 UTC and was also responsible for a non Earth directed CME. A third event, what could possibly have been an X-Class solar flare, was observed at 22:15 UTC from a new region located just to the northeast of 2144. Yet another CME was produced and directed away from Earth. Proton levels streaming past Earth are currently at elevated levels and is likely associated with the activity from just behind the east limb. There will remain a chance for minor C-Class solar flares and perhaps an increasing chance for an isolated moderate M-Class event. Solar flare risks could again increase once farside regions begin to rotate onto the visible disk this week. Posted by Admin - September 1, 2014 - Daily Alternative News Report
Videos by Suspicious0bservers, Jason A 9/1/2014 - Welcome to the first day of September. Earth facing solar activity remains at low levels. All visible regions, including 2149 and 2152 are fairly stable. Region 2153 located in the southwest quadrant continues to gradually evolve, but is not considered a threat for strong solar flares. A bright coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible Monday morning in the latest STEREO Behind COR2 imagery. This was the result of a major solar flare beyond the northeast limb. The source region will rotate into view later this week. A major solar flare, possibly X-Class, was observed this morning behind the east limb. Attached imagery below by STEREO Behind captures the bright flash of the eruption beginning at 11:05 UTC. This event was associated with a Type II Radio Emission with an estimated velocity of 2079 km/s. A bright coronal mass ejection (CME) is now visible in the latest STEREO Behind COR2 coronagraph imagery. The event also looks to be very energetic as particles are now bombarding the spacecraft and creating noise in the latest imagery. |
